Nicole Scherzinger is taking a stroll down memory lane as she reflects on her time with the Pussycat Dolls. For those who may not know, The Pussycat Dolls are the pop girl group that catapulted Scherzinger to global fame in 2005 with their catchy hit, “Don’t Cha.” The group, known for their dance-pop anthems and sultry performances, made quite the impact during their time together, releasing two albums and multiple chart-topping singles.

Nicole Scherzinger Reflects On Her Time With The Pussycat Dolls

Scherzinger’s journey with the Pussycat Dolls began when founder-choreographer Robin Antin negotiated a record deal, assembling a group of talented dancer-performers that included Kimberly Wyatt, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, and Carmit Bachar. They chose Scherzinger to lead the group, and she wholeheartedly embraced the role.

“Our group was never set up like the Spice Girls, our group was set up where I would be the quarterback, and I would lead us,” Scherzinger said. “The girls are extremely strong, talented dancers, and I had to work hard to be able to stand next to them.”

Despite the group’s ups and downs over the years, Scherzinger is proud of her time with the Pussycat Dolls. She acknowledges her significant contribution to the group’s music and success, with her powerhouse vocals gracing the majority of their albums.

In 2020, the Pussycat Dolls made a comeback with their single “React” and announced a highly-anticipated tour. However, the tour faced delays due to the pandemic and eventually met its demise amidst a lawsuit between Scherzinger and Antin.

Nicole Scherzinger Talks About Why She Left The Masked Singer

Following the Pussycat Dolls era, Scherzinger ventured into reality competition judging roles, appearing on shows like The X Factor and The Masked Singer. She found a unique sense of camaraderie and chemistry with her fellow judges on The Masked Singer, which she describes as a family-like experience.

“I really appreciate the family within the show—the camaraderie, the chemistry that we have. It’s not every day you can go to work and genuinely love the people,” Scherzinger said. “They make it not feel like work. We get to just play and have fun and be ourselves, and I think we bring out the best in each other.”

However, as she gears up to star in the West End revival of Sunset Boulevard in London, Scherzinger believes that her talents have been underestimated. She’s eager to prove her versatility and expand her horizons beyond the pop scene.

“That’s why I’m making moves now. It’s hard when people don’t see you for who you truly are. But if you don’t show it to them, they will never know; so that’s why I’ve taken this,” Scherzinger said. “If I’m honest with you, I had to actually choose between The Masked Singer season 11 and Sunset Boulevard. I chose Sunset Boulevard. This is where my talents truly lie. I’m still proving myself.”
